In a shocking incident today, five individuals were shot at an adult education center in Örebro, Sweden. The shooting occurred around 12:30 PM local time at Campus Risbergska, which caters to students over the age of 20, offering various educational programs including vocational training and Swedish language classes for immigrants.

Authorities reported that the situation remains critical, with police urging the public to avoid the area as they continue their investigation. Eyewitness accounts describe a chaotic scene, with sounds of gunfire and screams echoing through the campus. One student, Andreas Sundling, recounted, "We heard three bangs and loud screams," as he sheltered in a classroom.

Initial reports suggest that the suspected shooter may have died by suicide, although this has not been officially confirmed by police. The local police chief, Roberto Eid Forest, characterized the event as a "very difficult incident," emphasizing the ongoing nature of the investigation. 

As of now, five individuals have been hospitalized, with varying degrees of injuries. Four of the victims underwent surgery, with two reported to be in critical condition and one sustaining minor injuries. Notably, police confirmed that no officers were injured during the incident.

Justice Minister Gunnar Strömmer addressed the media, stating, "The reports of violence in Örebro are very serious. The police are on site and the operation is in full swing." He assured the public that the government is closely monitoring the situation and maintaining communication with law enforcement.

The adult education center, located approximately 125 miles west of Stockholm, has been evacuated, and students were initially sheltered in nearby buildings. The police operation is ongoing, with multiple emergency vehicles and helicopters deployed to the scene.
