Vice President JD Vance Faces Unprecedented Decline in Approval Ratings

Washington, D.C. — Vice President JD Vance is grappling with a historic low in public approval, as recent polling data reveals a significant dip in his favorability. According to Real Clear Polling, Vance's approval rating has plummeted to 41.7%, with an unfavorable rating of 44.8%, resulting in a net unfavorable score of -3.1 percentage points. This marks a stark contrast to his predecessors and has sparked widespread debate about his role in the current administration.

The decline in public sentiment comes amid a series of controversies that have defined the early months of Vance's tenure. Notably, President Donald Trump, in a recent interview, refrained from endorsing Vance as a potential successor, describing him as "very capable" but emphasizing that it is "too early" to make such decisions. Speculation surrounding Donald Trump Jr.'s potential candidacy for the 2028 presidential race has further complicated Vance's standing within the Republican Party.

His recent confrontation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during an Oval Office meeting garnered attention and, for some, bolstered his image as a decisive leader. At 39 years old, Vance is the third-youngest vice president in U.S. history, but his relative inexperience has been a focal point of criticism.
